Performance search marketing agency Mediarun Search, wins The Mirror Group Newspapers online shopping website, www.mirrorshopping.co.uk. The Mirror is just one of a significant number of new clients Mediarun has signed to its core performance based search engine optimisation service since the beginning of January 2008.
MGN re-launched their re-designed shopping site in June 2008. The site had originally provided an online shopping platform for their traditional reader offers. The new site will be competing aggressively in the reader offers space, but will also be looking for significant growth by opening up new customers from the wider market across a range of product and service sectors. MGN were looking for an SEO agency that could help the new shopping site compete organically in search engines against both direct competitors and general ecommerce retailers across different verticals.
This supports MGN and Trinity Mirror’s commitment to continual digital development across its multiplatform media business and follows the recent complete re-design of the flagship Mirror.co.uk website and the announcement of Trinity Mirror’s launch into Mobile.
Melanie Riley, MGN Deputy Business Enterprise Director, said of the agreement, “It was important for us to choose an agency with the enthusiasm, personal service and boutique approach to help us hit our growth targets for 2008. Mediarun Search have a proven track record of delivering results and have demonstrated a fresh approach to this project as well as a cost-effective pricing model.” Mediarun Search won the project in a competitive pitch.
Alex Wares, Managing Director of Mediarun Search, attributes this year’s numerous successful client wins to the company’s ability to offer a fresh boutique approach to organic search and the commitment to pre-agreed performance-based targets. “The search industry is growing faster than ever before. In today’s challenging trading conditions clients are looking for agencies who are focused on delivering a measurable return on investment and who can squeeze the highest ROI from marketing spend. The days of vague promises in SEO are long gone. Mediarun Search has built a reputation over the last 3 years for delivering results and our recent client wins and growth reflect this.” |

Media Run Search wins three new clients for its SEO offering
By Sam Matthews
Media Run Search has announced three client wins,
including Carphone Warehouse's One Stop Shop.
Media Run Search is the search engine optimisation spin-off
from Media Run's main online ad network business. As well
as One Stop Shop, it has won the SEO contracts for graduate
recruitment company 1st
Place and lighting brand Geoffrey
Harris.
The company has also introduced a performance-based SEO
model to extend its current retainer model, which gives
clients the option of selecting either a keyword position,
CPA or traffic volume guarantee model. Carphone Warehouse
will be using a mix of retained search and CPA on its
One Stop Shop site.
Media Run claims the new performance-based model requires
less initial investment from each client, as well as demystifying
the search process for marketers still unsure about allocating
budgets online.
Alex Wares, head of sales at Media Run Search, said, "Natural
search is a grey area for some people. Instead of charging
an inflated retainer fee, we can offer marketers a performance-based
option so we both feel like we're pulling in the same
direction."
